Dear Friend of Poco,

Summer is here! Although so far it hasn't matched last year's scorcher, we'll take what we can get as Ma Nature finally warms us up just a bit. With sunshine and warmer days come summer wines to quench the thirst. Be sure to stop by the Poco patio to relax with friends and vino!

--- July 4th Closure
Poco is closing its doors Sunday July 4th to celebrate Independence Day. We're looking forward to some fun, food and games with friends and loved ones. Poco re-opens Monday July 5th. Happy Independence Day!

--- James Purpura Art Opening – Thursday July 8th, 6pm-9pm
Poco welcomes local artist James Purpura, who will be exhibiting his show titled If You Could Only Take One Last Vacation, Where Would You Choose to Go? James paints music by painting what he hears. He believes beats, instruments, layering, and patterns in music can evoke certain colors and brush strokes. His works will hang throughout the month of July!

--- Calf and Kid "Summer on the Patio" Tasting – Sunday July 18th, 4pm-6pm
Indulge yourself in the delights of premium cheese and wine pairings from the Northwest and around the world. Once again Calf and Kid's Sheri Levigne is teaming up with Poco's Peter Moore to bring you this exclusive afternoon tasting event on the Poco patio. Sheri will introduce each cheese, and Peter each wine, in a series of great pairings, such as the 2009 Hofer Zweigelt Rosé paired with Leonora, one of the best Spanish goat cheeses you'll ever taste.. Sheri and Peter make a great team that's always a hit with wine and cheese lovers. You'll laugh and learn while enjoying a delicious and lazy afternoon. All this, plus a little treat at the end! Because this event is held on the patio, space is limited to only 14 seats. RSVP to info@pocowineroom.com or call Poco Wine Room at 206-322-9463. This event will fill up fast so don't wait. Cost $60 including tax, gratuity not included.

--- Trust Cellars Wine Tasting – Thursday July 22nd, 6pm-9pm
Cost $10 including tax
We are really happy to have one of our favorite winemakers, Steve Brooks, coming to town to pour his rich silky wines from Trust Cellars, located in Walla Walla. Steve's wines have become one of the region's best kept secrets. Steve left his career as a journalist and is now in his fourth vintage of creating Trust wines. No bones about it, his wines rock!! Come and sip this yummy lineup: 09 Riesling, 09 Cabernet Franc Rosé, 07 Cabernet Sauvignon, 07 Columbia Valley Syrah, and the 07 Walla Walla Syrah. A tasty portfolio indeed!

We are now seeking a part-time server to join our wonderful staff. If you know anyone you'd love to see serving at Poco, please introduce them to us!
